Sex in the Woods: How to Write the Kind of Nature Writing You Want to Read

Forget your grandmother's bird book. This class is for people who think the natural world is as lusty and complicated as a telenovela. We'll draw from natural history, ethnobotany, and folklore as we write about the species that surround us. You’ll finish the class with a collection of written portraits on different plants, bugs, animals (you take your pick) and new tricks for making your readers weirdly excited about lichen and wolverines.

Instructor: Kristina Johnson

Dates: Tuesdays, Oct. 11, 18, & 25, Nov. 1, 15, & 22
