Instructor: Melissa Stephenson
The word “essay” might trigger flashbacks to some five-paragraph creation written to pass freshman composition years ago. A personal essay, however, is simply a true story well told—memoir in short form. So what are the ingredients of a great essay? We’ll use ideas from veteran creative nonfiction writers like Ann Hood, Mary Karr, Phillip Lopate, and Elizabeth Gilbert to explore this question and inspire new work. Each participant will draft an essay (or memoir chapter, if you’d rather) and receive workshop feedback as well as guidance on submitting work for publication.
Cost: $195 (6 Weeks)
After your payment is processed (aprox. 1-3 days) we'll connect you with your instructor and share any additional information related to the workshop. If you prefer to pay by check, or if you have any questions, contact Robin at email@example.com.
