Instructor: Robin Troy
Course Description: You have an idea for a story—maybe even a draft. Or you have a few chapters of a novel, or a work of non-fiction, but aren’t quite sure where to go. Participants in this workshop will write and submit work for class discussion and feedback, whether to get down that story idea you’ve had in your head for a while, or to clean up that draft you’ve been stuck on how to revise. We’ll study short stories by acclaimed authors and discuss the elements of compelling narratives—character, dialogue, plot, voice, tension and arc—with the goal of each producing our own compelling short story or chapter(s).
